Song of your choice

A song of your choice, verse 1, is sung a cappella

Chords

You listen to different chords which are played on the piano and sings the different tones that are included in the chord (3 and 4 note chords in different inversions)

Melody

You copy a melody that is played on the piano.

Follow the piano

A follow-my-leader exercise where you try to sing along with an improvised melody which is played on the piano. Here what is being assessed is flexibility, range and the ability to quickly change and follow a melody which is being played.

Rhythm

You copy a rhythm (by tapping a pen on a table).

Music theory test for applicants to year 5–9

If you're successful in your singing test, you will be invited to a written music theory test. 

• Invitations will be sent to the email address given in your application, once all the singing tests are completed.
• The theory test takes place in February, once all the singing tests are completed, at Västmannagatan 19. It is not possible to do the test on another date.
• If you're not invited to a theory test that means you have not received a high enough score in your singing tests.
